Park Lane Primary School Celebrates Euro 2020 in Style with Donation from Barratt London

Students at Park Lane Primary School in Wembley are celebrating this year’s UEFA Euro 2020 with a dedicated football coaching session organised by housebuilder Barratt London. Currently developing No. 10 Watkin Road as part of the wider Wembley Park regeneration project, Barratt London hopes the coaching, which took place alongside a £1,000 donation towards sporting equipment for the school, will help inspire the next generation of players.

Two coaches from Wembley Football ran the training which took place on Tuesday 29th June, and included: a warmup, ball control and footwork drills, shooting games, passing skills and a football match between the students. Wembley Football is a community group which organises a variety of projects and football programmes for children in the local area, aiming to bring communities together from different backgrounds and encouraging children and young people to live healthier lifestyles.

Amy Bevis-Smith, the P.E. Co-ordinator for Park Lane Primary School, commented: “I would like to thank Barratt London on behalf of all the children involved in this project and who will benefit from the new equipment and donation. When events like Euro 2020 happen, it’s always a fun opportunity to encourage our pupils to take part in sport and it’s great to have the resources to do that – not just with this one session but in the future as well. Using the donation, we will be able to purchase a range of new sporting equipment to make P.E. lessons more exciting for our students.”

The Community Fund scheme allows Barratt London to donate £1000 each month to a local charity or organisation working to improve the quality of life for those living in an area close to one of its developments. The housebuilder’s donation to Park Lane Primary School will help to provide sports equipment to enable students to continue developing their skills and fitness, as well as promoting the importance of sport for children and young people.

Pam Reardon, Sales and Marketing Director at Barratt East London, adds: “As the final match of Euro 2020 will be hosted at Wembley, this is the perfect occasion to celebrate the sporting links in the area close to our No. 10 Watkin Road development, as well as promoting opportunities for young players nearby. As a leading UK housebuilder, we are proud to be able to support the fostering of sports, teamwork and fitness skills for young people in our local communities.”
