Plant-based burgers top Uber Eats list of the nation’s top 25 vegan dishes
To coincide with World Vegan Month, Uber Eats has revealed the UK’s top 25 favourite vegan dishes, with Vegan Burgers, Ham and Cheeze Toasties and Chilli Non-Carne Burritos making the top three.
In a sign that veganism is a way of life for millions of planet-conscious Brits, vegan orders on the app have increased by 127% year-on-year since 2019. The data also revealed that vegan takeaways are the most popular with Londonders, but Mancunians and Glaswegians also over-index in their consumption of vegan dishes versus the rest of the UK.
In a sign that businesses are increasingly catering to the huge demand, Uber Eats has seen a 59% rise in restaurants with vegan options on the app as plant-based diets become more mainstream.
Since 2018, the number of Uber Eats orders involving a designated ‘vegan’ item (i.e. a vegan burger rather than a standalone vegetable) have rocketed by 1436%, with a million more orders per year containing a dish crafted specially to cater for a vegan takeaway audience.
