Urban Neapolitan pizza spot 081 Pizzeria has launched a brand new menu this week, based on celebrity and customer favourites. The menu features a controversial ‘sausage & chips on pizza’, ‘pistachio and pesto’ and a pizza infused with four different types of cheese, plus plenty of other wonderfully wacky flavours.

The chef behind 081 Pizzeria who is heavily influenced by pop culture and hip hop music, was inspired by British singer Ed Sheeran to cook up a Neapolian pizza with chips and a special touch of Italian sausage. Ed Sheeran once admitted on Twitter that his favourite pizza topping was chips, and his hack was rolling up the pizza and dipping it into ketchup. Well, curious foodies can now give this a shot at 081 Pizzeria.

081 Pizzeria launched earlier this year following the third national lockdown and has since become a hot spot for pizza lovers in the capital, selling nearly 18,000 pizzas in just six months.

With its funky, youthful aesthetic and strong music influence, 081 Pizzeria is on a mission to challenge the perception of the typical Italian Pizzerias in the UK by pioneering a ‘new age pizza culture’ with unconventional flavours and techniques.

Since it opened, 081 Pizzeria has been serving up weekly specials with a range of quirky toppings and combinations. Recently, it scored record sales on Saturday 2nd October with over 250 orders placed. The new menu celebrates six successful months despite many challenges brought by the pandemic and will feature five signature pizzas – all for £12 each.

‘Wurstel E Patatine’ – Fior Di Late Mozzarella Base, Chips, Wurstel, Parmesan

‘Pumpkin’ – Pumpkin Cream Base, Ndjua, Italian Sausage, Fior De Latte Mozzarella, Stracciatella, Parmesan

The new menu is available from today (2nd November). Find 081 Pizzeria at Peckham Levels from Monday – Sunday: 12pm – 11pm or enjoy the Napoli-style cuisine from the comfort of your own home via Deliveroo & UberEats.
