PRINCESS DIANA would be devastated at the developing feud between sons William and Harry
PRINCESS DIANA would be devastated at the developing feud between sons William and Harry, a leading Royal expert said today.
Michael Cole spoke out after details emerged from Harry’s new memoir, Spare.
They include allegations that William attacked Harry in a row over Meghan. Harry is also reportedly claiming his brother and sister-in-law Catherine encouraged him to wear the Nazi uniform.
Speaking to Bev Turner Today on GB News, Mr Cole said: “Princess Diana would be devastated. She’d be so sad. Yeah. She always believed that her two sons would be there for each other. That they would love each other, truly love each other and cover each other’s back. So to see this going on is so sad, and is not going to make it easy to bring about reconciliation. If one now is ever going to be achieved.”
On the pair’s alleged altercation he added: “Prince William seems to have won on points. It’s really not the sort of behaviour you expect from brothers or you would hope to see and certainly not what you’d expect of brothers of the other with Royal blood. But it’s not the first time in history that the introduction of a new woman or man into a family has, lets say, caused an action.”
His comments come after royal expert Jennie Bond says there appears to be little hope of a reconciliation between Prince Harry and brother William.
Speaking to GB News Breakfast, Ms Bond said: “The saddest thing is the line, saying that at Prince Philip’s funeral, Charles stood there at his father’s funeral and looked at his sons and looked up. It says in the book he looked at their flushed faces and said, ‘Please boys don’t make my final years of misery’.
“And I think that’s terribly telling and sad. It’s almost a Shakespearean tragedy to the elderly King saying to his sons, please just just cool it, will you? But they won’t. I don’t think this is going to make it any better.
Speaking to Isabel Webster and Martin Daubney, she continued: “I think we should remember this is one side of the story and so recollections may vary. The allegation that William and Kate told him to wear the Nazi uniform which cast a huge shadow over the Royal Family is a pretty bad one to hand to your brother.
“But it is, ‘he said, she said’. Willl that bring William out to respond? It might possibly. I don’t know if Harry’s telling the truth, it is definitely his truth. But again, I think we all see one side of the story and then this spat, this fisticuffs that they had in the kitchen, we really do need to know William’s side of it.
She added: “Did Harry say something to provoke William to put his hands on Harry? They’re both very protective of their wives. William had accused Megan of being abrasive, difficult and rude. Did Harry then say something about Katherine? I don’t know. It’s all incredibly unsavoury, it is very immature and it clearly isn’t going to help towards the reconciliation, which Harry has suggested he wants. That’s the only positive thing that has come out so far. Harry for the first time has said he does want his family back, not the institution, but his family. It’s a funny way of going about it.”
