As a millennial, I love that I have a voice and an opportunity to choose my path without considering societal pressure.
Are millennials having any positive impact?
Millennials are entirely changing different societal aspects. Their impact in the workplace has been felt and acknowledged by researchers. Millennials have improved employee engagement initiatives since they are known for seeking to stand out and demonstrate performance. Companies are responding to this new trend by providing opportunities for millennials to stand out, including organizing shadowing programs with senior managers.
Also, you cannot talk about millennials without mentioning technology. Millennials tend to be tech-savvy, which favors their performance and presence in the workplace. It is common to find senior managers seeking assistance from millennials to prepare presentations and infographics. Besides, the increased integration of technology into the workplace has simplified the possibility of remote working. Millennials have demonstrated significant interest in sustainability issues and are encouraging workplaces to increase their commitment to sustainability.
What is the worst misconception society has about millennials?
Millennials are the most educated and diverse generation in the modern world. It is unfair that many people conceive them as entitled and lazy. Older generations wrongly perceive them as a group of people whose only concern is social media and trends.
