Revealed: London’s most pizza obsessed boroughs

New research has revealed that Kensington & Chelsea is London’s most pizza obsessed borough.

The entertainment experts Casino Guide conducted the study researched each borough within London based on how many pizza restaurants are available via the Just Eat app.

Kensington & Chelsea, despite being the borough with the smallest population of 156,864, has 84 pizza restaurants available via the Just Eat app, which equates to 1,867 people per takeaway. The area has the highest ratio of restaurants to people, proving how popular pizza is in the borough.

With a population of 248,115 people and 122 restaurants, Islington comes in second place with 2,034 people per pizza restaurant, 23 of which have 5+ star ratings.

Camden, with 104 pizza restaurants across the borough, comes third in the rankings totalling 2,688 people per restaurant and a population of 279,516.

In fourth place is Hammersmith & Fulham, with a population of 183,544 and 2,739 people per pizza restaurant. It is also second to last in the number of pizza restaurants in each borough with 67.

The borough which follows in fifth place is Westminster, with a population of 269,848 and 3,066 people per pizza restaurant.

Hackney and Southwark take sixth and seventh place, with Hackney sitting at 3,426 people per pizza restaurant and Southwark with 3,441.

Lambeth takes eighth place with 86 restaurants and 3,742 people per restaurant, leaving Newham, which has the third-largest population in London, to take ninth place with 94 restaurants overall but 3,779 people per restaurant.

Despite Merton’s population of 206,453, it is in tenth position for ‘London’s most pizza obsessed borough’, with 3,823 people per restaurant.

A spokesperson for Casino Guide commented: “For many people across the country, it is not hard to be swayed into ordering in, rather than cooking after a hard day’s work. It is amazing to see how many boroughs in London share the same love for pizza. It’s clear that the dish is one of the capital’s top options for a delivery treat, and the data demonstrates that pizza will always be one of the nation’s favourite takeaways.”
