RM Sotheby’s is proud to offer a further selection From The Terence E. Adderley Collection at Amelia Island. The Adderley Collection features some of the most elusive variants produced in the pre-war era as well as desirable specifications of post-war sports racers. This year’s RM Sotheby’s Amelia Island event is set to offer classic aficionados a peerless selection on 3 March 2023.

1931 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Gran Sport Spider by Zagato – The 13th of approximately 106 fifth-series Gran Sports produced, and one of 76 examples built for 1931, this original example features numerous matching body stamps and parts numbers. With a comprehensive restoration completed in 2006, this Alfa Romeo was shown at the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2012 (Estimate: $2,000,000 – $2,500,000).

1929 Rolls-Royce Phantom I Derby Speedster by Brewster – Well-known in Rolls-Royce circles, this rakish example was delivered new to the heir of the Maxwell House Coffee fortune. One of only four Derby Speedster examples known to exist, this example came Second-in-Class at the 1992 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. With prior ownership including noted Rolls-Royce collectors William Maxwell Davis, Rick Carroll, and William G. Lassiter Jr., this is undoubtedly one of the most famous Phantom I chassis in existence (Estimate: $1,000,000 – $1,300,000).
1969 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta by Scaglietti – Destined for the Canadian market, this early production, plexi-nose Berlinetta was originally shown at the Montreal Auto Salon. Specified in this stunning black-on-black colour scheme from new, the 88th Daytona built proudly sports the numerous features that many collectors have come to value, from the early style seats to the wooden steering wheel (Estimate: $550,000 – $650,000).
1934 Packard Twelve Coupe Roadster – Part of the ultra-desirable Eleventh Series of Packard production and wearing the most sporting body style offered by the factory, this example has changed hands between serious pre-war collectors practically since new. Previously part of the prestigious Merritt, McCallum, McCarty, Tamaroff, and Willbanks collections, this Ascot Maroon example was purchased by Mr. Adderley in 2015. This veteran of five CCCA CARavans is one of only twenty twelve-cylinder Coupe Roadsters known to exist (Estimate: $425,000 – $500,000).
