ROH announces exciting new content for the Easter Weekend, World Art Day and beyond
The Royal Opera House unveils its third week of free online broadcasts, musical masterclasses and cultural highlights for audiences across the globe to enjoy for free anywhere, anytime.
To celebrate World Art Day on 15 April we will showcase The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet’s enduring connections with the art world, revealing beautiful production designs from some of the globe’s most influential artists including Salvador Dali, David Hockney and Pablo Picasso – all available on World Art Day via ROH Twitter and Instagram.
Following on from the broadcasts of The Royal Ballet’s Peter and the Wolf and The Royal Opera’s Acis and Galatea, we present the next in our series of free weekly production broadcasts, with a Facebook and YouTube premiere of Jonathan Miller’s award-winning Così fan tutte from 7pm BST tomorrow, and The Royal Ballet’s The Metamorphosis at 7pm BST on 17 April.
Getting under the skin of opera, we hand the reins of the ROH Instagram account to our Director of Opera, Oliver Mears, who will explore his favourite operas for children. Watch with your family to enjoy music for all ages.
We look forward to presenting the next episode of House Music, featuring the Music Director of The Royal Opera, Antonio Pappano, as he plays and discusses some of his favourite pieces from the opera repertory, including Wagner’s Parsifal and Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor. Don’t miss this latest episode!
We’ll also be sharing more of the best content created by our performers at home, with a wealth of material and insights from world-leading artists. Join ROH ballet rehearsals from living rooms across the UK and socially-distanced performances from our talented Orchestra.
