Ronnie Wood Marks his Birthday with the Release of Three New Limited Edition Prints Featuring Bandmate Keith Richards

A new set of previously unreleased prints inspired by the musical bond between Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards will be released on Ronnie’s birthday this year. The three limited-edition artworks depicting Ronnie and his long-time collaborator and dear friend Keith Richards will be available to purchase from 1st June. These lively and emotive works capture the incredible energy between the Rolling Stones bandmates, who celebrate 46 years playing together this year. Each print is signed and numbered by Ronnie and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Ronnie will personally dedicate each limited-edition print ordered between 1st-7th June, his anniversary week of joining the Stones back in 1975.

For Ronnie this project is personal and poignant:”I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate my birthday than to pay tribute to the bandmate and incredible friend who has shaped so much of my life, Keith Richards. We worked together for forty-six years, and I hope these prints capture some of the essence of our relationship.”

Weaving is an electric, eye-catching portrait of Ronnie and Keith together on stage. The title referencing the collaborative and spontaneous way the two musicians play together, something the pair describe as “the ancient form of weaving.” The art form provides a metaphor for the natural way they respond to one another and layer music together when they perform live. Discussing his guitar interplay with Ronnie, Keith Richards has stated, “It’s not worked out that way, it cannot be, it would be too stiff. It’s got to flow; you’ve got to trust each other.” Weaving beautifully captures the unison of the pair during a performance through its stunning use of colour and mark-making.

Ronnie tenderly encapsulates his longtime bandmate’s enigmatic stage persona in the second print Weaver. The dynamic portrait depicts Keith Richards, alone on stage playing an incredible riff. The work is almost audible in its depiction of bluesy guitar, brought to life by high contrast shading and delicate attention to detail.

The final print Take Care is an intimate self-portrait of the artist. The title seems to gesture at Ronnie’s personal recovery, a topic that inspired his recent Affirmation series. Take Care recreates the intensity and concentration of the musician on stage, his eyes downturned towards the out-of-frame guitar.

Each print will be available as a signed, numbered edition of 195 priced at £995. The final day for personalized print dedications will be 7th June. The prints will be available to purchase via Ronnie’s Art Store. https://store.digitalstores.co.uk/ronniewood/
