Ronnie Wood releases new signed, limited edition Affirmation print in support of Turn Up For Recovery
Ronnie Wood is releasing a new signed, limited-edition print in support of Turn Up For Recovery, the charitable movement established to spread awareness of abstinence-based recovery through music founded by Melia Clapton.
Affirmation I is the first in a series of vibrant Affirmation artworks created by the artist and Rolling Stones guitarist, inspired by an important part of his personal recovery.
Affirmations – important tools in recovery – are short, positive messages repeated to encourage change in the way we think and to help maintain emotional and mental resilience through this transformative period.
Depicting a message of positivity and inspiration, When I Take Care of Myself I Can Achieve Anything, the print is signed by Ronnie and available as a numbered edition of 500 priced at £399, with 50% of the proceeds going to Turn Up For Recovery.
Ronnie comments, “Affirmations have become a really valuable part of my recovery and have always really inspired me along the way. I know how hard it must’ve been for a lot of people who couldn’t get to meetings during lockdown and who have had a really challenging time during this past year. I know that painting and reading have certainly helped me this past twelve months. I wanted to create this print in support for Turn Up For Recovery to highlight the incredible work they do. It really does make a huge difference to so many lives.”
Some of Ronnie’s most popular Instagram posts during Lockdown were his messages in support of people in recovery who were self-isolating and unable to attend meetings, reading some of his favourite passages from “one of my books that help me get through every day”.
Turn Up For Recovery is the grassroots, charitable gig movement born out of Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival. Founded by Eric’s wife, Melia Clapton, Turn Up For Recovery aims to raise awareness of abstinence-based recovery, tackle the stigma of addiction and help make treatment affordable to people struggling with alcohol and drug addiction. All donations raised by Turn Up For Recovery go to fund treatment for those in need at Crossroads Treatment Centre.
