The Royal Opera House is proud to continue its #OurHouseToYourHouse programme, featuring free online broadcasts, musical masterclasses and cultural highlights that can be accessed by audiences for free anywhere, anytime.

Today we are delighted to announce that we will be making available two new productions in our series of free weekly broadcasts available on Facebook and YouTube every Friday at 7pm:

• Woolf Works, The Royal Ballet, 2017 – 26 June, 7pm BST
• La bohème, The Royal Opera, 2017 – 3 July, 7pm BST

The Royal Ballet’s Olivier Award winning Woolf Works is choreographed by Resident Choreographer Wayne McGregor and takes inspiration from Virginia Woolf’s Mrs Dalloway, Orlando and The Waves as well as her letters, essays and diaries. The triptych of ballets is set to a commissioned score by Max Richter and stars Guest Artist Alessandra Ferri as Woolf. Richard Jones’s production of Puccini’s La bohème tells the story of Rodolfo, a poet, and Mimì, a seamstress, who fall in love but whose happiness is threatened by Mimì’s illness. With designs by Stewart Laing, the 2017 recording stars Nicole Car as Mimì, Michael Fabiano as Rodolfo, Mariusz KwiecieÅ„ as Marcello and Simona Mihai as Musetta. The Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and the Royal Opera Chorus are conducted by Antonio Pappano.

We look forward to the next in our series of free online broadcasts, with the YouTube and Facebook premiere of The Magic Flute on Friday 19 June at 7pm BST. Mozart’s glorious opera is brought to life in David McVicar’s classic production, with evocative designs by John Macfarlane. The colourful score encompasses the renowned coloratura arias for Sabine Devieilhe’s Queen of the Night, lyrical love duets for Mauro Peter’s Tamino and Siobhan Stagg’s Pamina and hearty, folksong-like arias for Roderick Williams’s Papageno. The Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and the Royal Opera Chorus are conducted by Julia Jones.

Join us live on the ROH website next Saturday 20 June at 7.30pm BST as we open our theatre to a select group of musicians, artists and performers for the second concert in our Live from Covent Garden series, the first live performances at the Royal Opera House since we closed our doors on 17 March. The concert will feature a performance of Gustav Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde by tenor David Butt Philip, mezzo-soprano Sarah Connolly and soloists of the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, while Royal Ballet Principal Vadim Muntagirov will perform Frederick Ashton’s Dance of the Blessed Spirits. The concert is available to view live and on demand for 14 days for £4.99 per household.

The Royal Opera House’s Create and Learn series continues to offer free resources for families around the globe to explore the magical world of theatre from home. This week our virtual classroom invites children and young people to make their own Magic Flute, inspired by Mozart’s The Magic Flute, our next #OurHouseToYourHouse broadcast.

Royal Opera House content continues to be available as part of our ongoing partnership with the BBC. On Thursday 18 June at 2pm, BBC Radio 3 will broadcast The Royal Opera’s performance of DvoÅ™ák’s Rusalka (2012) with Camilla Nylund in the title role, conducted by Yannick Nezet-Seguin. Also currently available on BBC Sounds are The Royal Opera’s performances of Szymanowski’s King Roger (2015) starring Mariusz KwiecieÅ„ and Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor (2016) starring Diana Damrau.
