Royal Opera House partners with TheatreCraft: the UK’s largest theatre careers event

The Royal Opera House, alongside SOLT UK and Masterclass, is excited to once again be partnering with TheatreCraft, a careers event for anyone aged 16-30 who is interested in an offstage role in the theatre. Complete with stalls, workshops and demonstrations from some of London’s leading theatres and industry professionals, this event gives young people the opportunity to learn more about the essential theatre roles that go on behind the curtain.

Taking place on Monday 20 November between 10am – 4:30pm, the Royal Opera House will host some of TheatreCraft’s most exciting sessions, ranging from Costume, Lighting and Stage Management demonstrations, to talks about the fantastic Apprenticeship programs that run across the industry.

The day will be run with help from volunteers, including the incredible Royal Opera House Apprentices, who will be assisting on workshops, speaking to visitors and helping as runners on the event. Combining hands-on training with relevant study, the Royal Opera House Apprentices programme gives young people the chance to work with some of the UK’s most experienced theatre professionals. More information on the Apprentices programme can be found on the Royal Opera House website.

The Royal Opera House is extremely proud of the many teams that make the incredible productions that this theatre is known for, and is delighted to partner with TheatreCraft to encourage the next generation of talent.

Alex Beard, Chief Executive of the Royal Opera House, said:
‘We are thrilled to once again be partnering with TheatreCraft to help secure future talent across the theatre world. It takes an extraordinary range of skills and expertise both off and on the stage to make our productions come to life, and we are proud to help highlight the many exciting careers on offer behind the scenes.’
