Royal Philharmonic Orchestra re-records iconic McDonald’s jingle for Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
As proud partners of Her Majesty the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant, McDonald’s has today announced a trio of celebrations ahead of the long-awaited weekend of festivities.
McDonald’s Jingle, re-imagined by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra
To kick-start celebrations, McDonald’s has teamed up with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to re-create its iconic jingle and make it fit for a queen.
The McDonald’s ‘Five Note Sting’, the jingle played at the end of its advertising and familiar to millions simply as “ba da ba ba ba”, was re-recorded by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. A 35-strong ensemble featuring brass, strings, percussion, and woodwind recorded a regal version of the brand’s iconic sound, sure to gain a royal seal of approval.
The new jingle will replace the original in the brand’s TV and radio ads over the course of the Jubilee weekend, along with the “one’s lovin’ it” tagline.
Royal Packaging
McDonald’s is also giving customers the chance to dine like a royal over the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend. The brand has reimagined the Big Mac®, Fries and Milkshake packaging that customers know and love as an elegant china set, adding Platinum Jubilee Pageant detailing to mark the occasion.
There are 70 of the limited-edition sets up for grabs. All McDonald’s fans have to do to be in with a chance of winning is to enter the competition via the McDonald’s App between 31st May – 6th June, with the lucky winners being crowned on 8th June.
