Sail under a firework-lit sky with Thames Clippers
In the run up to Guy Fawkes Night this year, travel through London with Thames Clippers to make the most of the twinkling evening lights and marvel at London’s greatest fireworks displays.
Attracting over 50,000 revellers, Battersea Park’s annual Bonfire Night celebration is one of London’s biggest firework displays. Glide through the capital to Battersea Power Station Pier and take the short walk to the family-friendly event for an evening of entertainment, with tickets on sale for just £10 for adults. Be sure to make a stop at Battersea Power Station before the show where there’s plenty of fun to be had with the kids, or perhaps afterwards for a drink and something to eat.
Londoners based in the East can head to Royal Wharf Pier for something a little closer to home with Newham’s Fireworks Night in the Royal Docks. The theme this year is the moon landing to mark the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11. The display will be full of sequences and special features designed to delight the senses with its intense brilliance across the Royal Docks’ skyline. The free to attend fireworks are accompanied by a dramatic soundtrack, funfair rides and a DJ for those who want to dance all night long.
Alternatively, join a Thames Clippers boat from central London and soak up the city sights by night. London’s leading River Bus service connects many of the capital’s top attractions including the London Eye, The Shard, Tower Bridge and the twinkling skyline of Canary Wharf. The celebrations will continue through the heart of the city, so grab a drink from the on-board bar, sit back and enjoy the iconic London skyline from the river.
