Samsung UK has today announced the launch of an exciting new initiative, Project Plant; the UK’s first urban-farm-to-table pizza pop up.

Powered by Samsung technology and supported by sustainable pizza partners, Purezza, the initiative explores how Samsung’s roots in connectivity and tech can inspire the way we select, grow and consume food. Showcasing exciting opportunities in urban farming and allowing them to experience a functioning urban farm.

Taking place at The Film Shed in Dalston, East London from October 15th to 17th 2021, visitors to Project Plant can expect to be wowed by a series of immersive domes in which crops of mushrooms, tomatoes, basil, and rocket have been growing. While at Project Plant, guests will be able to create their perfect pizza by selecting and harvesting their ideal combination of ingredients before Purezza, the award-winning plant-based pizzeria, cooks it to perfection on site.

As visitors move through the space, they’ll be able to interact with the crops being grown inside each of the geometric domes. Samsung devices will enable them to control the connective technology in each ecosystem, allowing them to explore the colour of the lights in the tomato domes, the irrigation of the two metre towers of leafy greens, and even listen to the sound of mushrooms as they grow, all enabled via the Samsung Smart Things Platform.

Through Project Plant, Samsung will demonstrate how tech can support small space growing, using connected technology, to help facilitate small changes that make a big difference to how and where plants can be grown (no tractor required). Project Plant is a first for Samsung as it looks to inspire visitors to consider the way they grow, shop, and eat by showcasing what can be grown using technology, encouraging everyone to #DoWhatYouCant.
