SANTA MARIA REOPENS IN EALING WITH A FRESH NEW LOOK

Santa Maria, one of London’s most beloved pizzerias, is proud to unveil the newly refurbished Ealing site, marking a full-circle moment and a deeply meaningful chapter in the brand’s 15-year journey. The return to their roots celebrates the makeover of their current Ealing location and the lasting passion of two Neapolitan friends who helped change London’s pizza scene

Founded in 2010 by Angelo Ambrosio and Pasquale Chionchio, Santa Maria was born on St Mary’s Road, Ealing, in a modest 26-cover site with a bold mission: to bring uncompromising Neapolitan pizza to London. Just two months after opening, Time Out crowned it London’s Best Pizza, and overnight, the little pizzeria became a cult destination, with queues down the street.

In 2020, during the height of the pandemic, the team made the decision to relocate just 500 metres up the road to a larger site on Bond Street, allowing more space for diners and meeting new operational requirements. Now, fifteen years later, and after a period of growth that has seen Santa Maria open five additional locations across the capital, including the newest in Paddington, the team is back in Ealing, breathing new life into the site that has become their West London home.

The newly refurbished Ealing restaurant pays homage to the brand’s roots while embracing a refreshed look, more spacious layout, and the same dedication to quality, authenticity, and warm Neapolitan hospitality that first won over Londoners. To celebrate the reopening, on Thursday 28th August, and to thank the local community for their continued support, Santa Maria will be giving away 150 free pizzas on the official reopening day. It’s their way of saying Grazie mille to the neighbourhood that started it all.

“Ealing will always be home for us. It’s where Santa Maria was born, where our roots are, and where our families live. This community has given us so much over the years, and redoing the Ealing branch feels like a full circle moment. The move to Bond Street happened during a challenging time for everyone, but now we’re proud to give Ealing the branch it truly deserves, a place that reflects our love for this neighbourhood and the people who are part of our Santa Maria family.” Angelo Ambrosio and Pasquale Chionchio, Co-Founders of Santa Maria

The reopening comes at a pivotal time for Santa Maria, as the brand celebrates 15 years in business, and cements its reputation as one of London’s leading pizza institutions. With locations now in Fulham, Fitzrovia, Islington, Kew Gardens, and Paddington, the Ealing re-opening is a nostalgic but forward-looking move, anchoring the brand’s legacy while embracing the future.

Santa Maria Ealing re-opens to the public on Thursday 28thAugust, at 11 Bond Street, London W5.
