SANTA’S HAD A MAKEOVER – THE MALL WOOD GREEN ANNOUNCES A BRAND-NEW GROTTO FOR 2024
The festive excitement is already building at The Mall Wood Green as the shopping centre reveals there will be a new Grotto this Christmas.
Santa will be moving into his magical new Grotto, located on the Lower Mall near Primark, on 2 November ready for a busy festive period. He will meet and greet local children every weekend in November and every day in December until Christmas Eve, before he sets off to deliver presents all around the world.
Entry to the Grotto is just £7 per child and includes a gift. £1 from each ticket will be donated to, North London Hospice. A registered charity, North London Hospice has been caring for local people with life-limiting illnesses from across the boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey since 1984.
Alongside the Grotto, the shopping centre will be showcasing fabulous new Christmas lights and decorations, including Nutcrackers, stars and lots of glitter from Monday 28th October. There will also be lots of lovely photo frame opportunities for friends and family shots and selfies.
Throughout the festive period, The Mall will be taking part in the ‘Make a Child’s Christmas’ campaign. Guests will be able to collect a star from the Christmas tree in City Square with a child’s age on it, choose a gift for them and donate it at the special gift donation station at the Grotto. The gifts will be distributed across the area by Salvation Army Wood Green.
There’s lots going on at the shopping centre throughout November and December with entertainment planned for the Grotto launch on the 2nd and 3rd of November, Children in Need Day on 16th November, the official countdown to Christmas on 31st of November and 1st of December and the last weekend before the big day on the 21st and 22nd of December. And for those who prefer to shop in an evening, late night trading begins on the 16th of December.
“We are so excited about our new Grotto and can’t wait for everyone to see it,” says The Mall’s Wood Green’s Marketing Manager, Catriona Baillie. “We have created the perfect home from home for Santa while he resides in the centre throughout November and December. We’re also delighted to be supporting North London Hospice and want to raise as much money as we can for this wonderful local charity.”
Bookings for the Grotto are now live on The Mall Wood Green’s website. To book a place visit: https://www.themall.co.uk/wood-green/whats-on/at-the-mall/2024/meet-santa-in-his-magical-grotto-this-christmas/
