SCARILY SEXY: THE LONDON DUNGEON LAUNCHES ONLYFANS ACCOUNT
In a UK attraction first, the London Dungeon has today announced the launch of its OnlyFans account, in partnership with sexual health charity Brook, for Sexual Health Week running from 13th to 19th of September.
The OnlyFans account sees the London Dungeon’s most infamous characters use humour and history to encourage people to learn from the mistakes and misinformation of the past, get tested, and practice safer sex. Safe sex is an important part of life, especially as nowadays sex has become something quite casual with people meeting online and hooking up (you can click here to see what we mean), so informing people on how to be safe in these situations is important.
Full of humour and plenty of rude jokes, the images and video for subscribers include Mrs Lovett lifting her dress to expose her… ankle, an innuendo-filled – and Nigella Lawson inspired – cooking demonstration that may contain more than just meat and two veg, and for paying subscribers, a comical history of sexual health practices of the 19th century, plus lots more.
All proceeds from the account will go to Brook and its work on raising awareness about its free to use, easily accessible sexual health services and destigmatising the discussion of sexual health.
Dougie Boyd, Director of Education at Brook, said: “While STIs and sexual health are certainly no laughing matter, talking about them does not need to be serious! We find one of the biggest barriers to good sexual health is a lack of conversation – if people are too embarrassed to talk about their bodies or their concerns then they won’t have the confidence to get tested. OnlyFans is the perfect place to meet misinformation and stigma head-on, and in partnership with the London Dungeon we are doing exactly that, using humour to destigmatise and normalise these conversations in order to empower people to confidently manage their sexual health.”
A London Dungeon spokesperson added: “Our infamous London Dungeon characters have turned to OnlyFans with a mission to make the scary into sexy and educational, creating hilarious content for fans to enjoy and hopefully learn from. By shining a light on the misinformation of our past, on the platforms where we’re exploring our sexuality, we’re hoping we can get this new generation comfortable and confident when it comes to talking about sex, having safe sex and getting tested.”
As well as the launch of the OnlyFans account, the partnership has also seen the renaming of the attraction’s Tavern to ‘The Cock and Beaver’ (pun intended) as a not so subtle reminder for those visiting on the importance of regular sexual health check-ups.
