Sea Containers London, the iconic South Bank hotel, is preparing to unveil its 2025 Christmas tree, created in collaboration Colours of Arley, the much-loved textiles brand.
Adorned in Colours of Arley’s signature stripes, the installation offers a festive experience that is as visually captivating and playful as it is interactive. Through vibrant colours and timeless patterns, the brand brings a new sense of lively sophistication to Sea Containers London’s lobby, perfectly complementing the bold, design-led spirit of the hotel.
Soft ornaments inspired by goods once brought into London by sea – from animals and seafood to citrus fruits and spices – adorn the tree, each handcrafted from Colours of Arley’s striped fabrics. Mindful not to introduce further textiles into circulation, the decorations have been crafted from off-cuts left over from previous Colours of Arley projects. Beyond just the visual experience, the ornaments invite people of all ages to interact with them up close.
In addition to the Christmas tree, Sea Containers London and Colours of Arley have curated the limited-edition ‘Christmas in Colour’ room package that wraps playful colour, cosy comfort and festive luxury into one magical escape. 10th November – 30th December.
The hotel will also host an inspired Christmas Cracker workshop, led by Colours of Arley, inviting people to craft their very own handmade, reusable cracker – complete with a small inner box for gifting. Each cracker is tied with recycled ribbons, designed to be reused year after year. Traditional crackers are often single-use and end up in landfill, but this hands-on session offers a sustainable and stylish alternative. 6th December.
