Selco Tottenham reopens doors after coronavirus closure
The Tottenham branch of a national builders’ merchant has reopened its doors for the first time in two months.
Selco Builders Warehouse’s Tottenham branch, based on White Hart Lane, closed due to the coronavirus outbreak on Monday, March 23.
Tradespeople were given the chance to complete online orders for collections and deliveries from the branch a fortnight ago.
It has now been decided to allow customers into the branch for walk-in transactions, with strict social distancing guidelines in operation.
Chief executive Howard Luft said: “The health and safety of our customers and colleagues has been our No 1 priority throughout and we have taken a measured and responsible approach to reopening.
“We have had more than two weeks where customers could either use Click & Collect or Click & Deliver at Tottenham and now we are in a position to continue offering those services but also open up the branch for customers to browse and pick up their products and materials in person.
“It’s an extremely difficult period for the entire country but we are delighted to start the process of opening the doors to our 68 branches across the UK, while adhering to the government guidelines at all times.”
Social distancing measures inside branches will include a 2m gap being maintained between all individuals, no more than two customers being allowed to enter the branch together, a limit to the total number of customers allowed in a branch at any one time and protective safety screens around the trade counter and tills.
There will be clear markings around the branch to guide people on social distancing regulations.
Click & Collect – from car parks only – and Click & Deliver orders will still continue and the Tottenham branch will be open from 7am-5pm, Monday to Friday and 7am-1pm on a Saturday.
