SHOPPERS AT THE MALL WOOD GREEN PUT ON THEIR BEST FACES FOR CHARITY
Visitors to The Mall, Wood Green, joined in the fun this half-term and got their faces painted in aid of the Godwin Lawson Foundation (GLF), raising nearly £300 for the local charity.
The Mall’s team of face painters were out in force during the school holiday from Thursday 20 – Sunday 23 February spreading a little half-term happiness and raising money for the popular and hardworking charity.
Choosing a bright and cheerful spring theme, young shoppers were transformed in to flowers, bunnies, chicks and lambs (and the odd superhero too) for a suggested charity donation of £1 per person.
“It was wonderful to see so many families turn out in support of the GLF and we were delighted to raise yet more money for the charity,” commented Gwendolyne Lobo, The Mall Wood Green’s Marketing Manager. “We know that every little helps and hope that by staging regular events in aid of the GLF we can try to raise its profile and ultimately encourage our local community to take a stand against knife crime and become peace ambassadors.”
This event was the shopping centre’s first this year in aid of the GLF. The Mall plans do similar events throughout the year, focusing on the school holidays so that families can come together, have fun and raise money for a very worthy charity.
In March, The Mall Wood Green will be celebrating World Book Day. Details can be found on the shopping centre’s website. https://www.themall.co.uk/wood-green/whats-on/at-the-mall/2020/share-a-story-for-world-book-day/
