Shoryu Ramen is bringing the energy and flavour of Japan’s legendary Hakata Gion Yamakasa Festival to the UK with the launch of its exclusive Yamakasa Set Menu. The new menu is available from Tuesday, 24th June to Saturday, 31st August at all Shoryu Ramen restaurant locations nationwide, with the chance to win a return flight to Japan!

Inspired by the centuries-old summer festival held in Fukuoka – Shoryu’s hometown and the birthplace of tonkotsu ramen – the Yamakasa Set Menu pays tribute to the bold spirit and regional ingredients of Southern Japan.

Featuring flavour-packed dishes and a touch of cultural tradition, the limited-time offering brings together authentic elements like Takana mustard greens, Yuzu citrus, Hakata Mentaiko pollock roe, and strawberries.

The Yamakasa set menu, available for £28 per person, offers diners a choice between Takana Tonkotsu Ramen or a vegetarian Yuzu Paitan Ramen, each served with a bonus three-piece portion of deep-fried Yatai Gyoza.

The set also includes a choice of mini donburi, such as Mentai Char Siu Don or Vegetable Croquette Takana Don, and a festival-inspired drink, including options like the Yuzu Roku Summer Spritz, Ichigo Sawa, Strawberry Matcha Latte, or Yuzu Jasmine Iced Tea. For those with a sweet tooth, optional desserts (+£5) include a Yuzu & Chocolate Cheesecake and a Matcha Rollcake.

In a nod to Yamakasa tradition, none of the dishes in the set contain cucumber, which is avoided during the festival due to the association with bad luck. Menus will also feature fun facts and cultural insights about the Hakata Gion Yamakasa Festival, giving diners a taste of its unique energy and history.

Shoryu is also offering guests who order the Yamakasa Set Menu the chance to win a return flight to Japan worth up to £1,000 to celebrate the launch. Entry is simple: order the set menu in-store, scan the dedicated QR code, and submit your details. One lucky winner will be selected at random in September!

Launching on the 24th June, the Yamakasa Set Menu is available for £28 per person at all Shoryu locations across the UK, including Soho, Covent Garden, Carnaby, Regent Street, Shoreditch, Oxford, and Manchester. A limited version of the menu will also be offered at Westfield Stratford City.
