Singer-songwriter Connor Mac, releases his second single ‘See Through’
25-year-old New Zealander, singer songwriter Connor Mac, releases his second single ‘See Through’ on 19th October via Moretone Music. This follows his critically acclaimed debut single ‘Purpose’ released in July. He has now had over two million streams to date and counting.
‘See Through’ was written, recorded and produced by Connor in his home studio in Switzerland (where he has lived since the age of 17). The single is an emotive anthem that compels the listener to take confidence in themselves. The track was mastered in Australia by Grammy award winner Joe Carra (Courtney Barnett/ The Teskey Brothers /King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard).
“The song is a message to look into our self-doubts about our own worth, whether we wear that on the surface or bury it deep within. It tackes the theme of anxiety and support and as it’s an uplifting song my aim is to give confidence to people suffering from low self-esteem.” CONNOR MAC – OCTOBER 2022
Connor grew up in a musical family in the countryside outside of Palmerston North, New Zealand. He started performing live aged 10 and by the time Connor left school was an accomplished vocalist and guitarist, having played in a variety of bands. Rather than going to university, Connor followed his passion for music and travelled to Europe where he has crafted his live performance as his British heritage allowed him to perform. His many shows included a private gig with Jason Derulo.
Since his teens he has been a highly sought-after artist for private events in destinations such as the South of France, Lake Como (Italy), Sylt (Germany), Ibiza and Corfu. Connor is equally at home playing the big stage, performing his original songs to an audience of over 15,000 at a festival in New Zealand in 2019. With the Montreux Jazz Festival on his doorstep he has been lucky to have significant exposure to world class inspiration and resources. This includes recent sessions at the renowned Hana Road Studios in Montreux.
In 2018 Connor released his first single – a stripped-back cover of “Unforgettable” by French Montana & Swae Lee, followed by several other covers of artists he admires, that found a substantial international audience. In 2020 he released his first original single, the silky and soulful “Spacemen”, followed by “Like I Used To Be” in 2022.
His musical influences include John Mayer, Little Feat, Leon Bridges and The 1975. His other passions include rugby, skiing, hiking, going to the gym and photography.
