Single Londoners finally get their own ‘meet cute’ moments

Happn, the real-life dating app, is aiming to put an end to Singles wasting time and money on unsuitable dates, with the launch of a new, world-first feature. The ‘Crush Points for All’ feature is designed to allow daters to find Crushes who already enjoy the same places and experiences as them.

Launched in partnership with leading technology company Foursquare, allows happners to add their real-life favourite locations to their profile. Integrating over 20 million global locations into the app, happners can discover potential Crushes based on their shared favourite locations, reflecting their lifestyle and the places they visit most often – from coffee shops and wine bars to the gym and the theatre.

Saving daters time and money by connecting them with those with shared interests

Launching in London first, the feature aims to put an end to ‘wasted’ dates, as over half (58%) of Londoners admit to having invested time and/or money on dates they didn’t enjoy – because they didn’t like the activities (32%), the venue or area of the city (27%).

Indeed, with nearly half (46%) of people believing going on dates with people who like going to the same places as them means they’ll have more in common, and 45% thinking that it will help with date planning by making it easier to decide where to go, the ‘CrushPoints For All’ feature directly meets the real-life needs of modern Singles.

What’s more, with 43% even admitting having visited a place they knew their Crush was at in the hopes of bumping into them at least once in the past, the new feature offers one of the most genuine icebreakers in the dating world, by allowing Singles to meet in their favourite venues, to foster more meaningful and context-rich connections.

happn Head of Communications, Claire Rénier, comments “Finding someone you have a genuine connection with can be hard, particularly in busy, modern cities. With so many Singles spending a huge amount of time, and hard-earned money, going on dates in their search for love, it’s easy to become disheartened if you don’t find someone you click with. The places that we spend our time say so much about who we are and our lifestyle, and through this new feature we’re giving daters an instant snapshot, to help them make more meaningful connections and avoid dreaded ‘wasted dates’.”

To help Singles find the connections that are right for them, users will be able to add and discover favourite places based on six categories – Outdoors, Bars and Coffees, Restaurants, Culture, Clubs, and Sports – making it easier to find the One.
