SISTER MIDNIGHT FM host party to raise funds for equipment

Sister Midnight, the not-for-profit co-operative organisation based in South East London and soon to be Lewisham’s first community-owned music venue,, is the home of Sister Midnight FM (SMFM), an online community radio station, with a unique focus on SE London and the same strong commitment to community benefit and inclusivity that is the foundation of Sister Midnight. The team behind Lewisham’s first-ever community-owned music venue Sister Midnight, present the first of their parties to celebrate and raise money for their new community-run radio platform Sister Midnight FM.

The night will host the ever-present and exciting names on the scene, Birmingham raised, DJ Kojay. With recent performances at Fabric, Corsica Studios, and Jumbi, Kojay’s versatility shines through his diverse mixes, with influences from jazz and RnB, right through to deep house and jungle breaks. Kojay is most notably known for his monthly show entitled ‘The OONTS Show’ on Rinse FM – huge.

Also joining the lineup are Sister Midnight residents Rohan Rakhit, Ri Mistry, LIMI, and Soph. SE London regulars and expert party starters.

Rohan Rakhit – one of the core team members behind the Asian Underground crew DAYTIMERS. Formerly on Worldwide FM, Rohan is a resident DJ for Social Records Society – a DJ-led vinyl collective of DJs, dancers, and artists based in South East London. From bringing people together on dance floors and community work, Rohan uplifts the South Asian creative scene.

Ri Mistry – an enthusiastically London-based DJ with a deep and comprehensive knowledge of London’s club scene. Ri is a radio producer and now resident DJ at Rinse FM, with a canon of UK dance music and sound system culture all prominent in her deeply rooted selections.

LIMI – an expert at providing eclectic blends of soulful sounds and deep percussive beats, focused on the spaces between sounds and the blurred lines between genres. Ranging from Hip Hop, Nu-jazz and Electronica, to UK Bass, Afro Beats and Global Club, expect a sexy selection of organised chaos.

Soph – the founder and resident of South London’s vinyl collective Social Records Society as well as co-captain of former record store and soon to be community owned live music venue Sister Midnight. Soph’s music selections span genres and BMPs, and with a passion for dance and community building, Soph is a frequent guest at Corsica Studies, Rinse FM, Balamii, and of course, SMFM.
