Acclaimed UK singer-songwriter Sorrel Nation is enjoying a landmark year with the release of her new single “Ran Jonny Ran” on 17 July, the first track from her forthcoming second album, Creeping Thyme, released on 23 October 2026.
Alongside the new music, Sorrel has been invited to contribute to Sandy Denny: A People’s History, a forthcoming book compiled by Sandy Denny’s daughter, Georgia Rose Lucas. The book brings together memories and reflections from some of the most respected names in folk music, including Richard Thompson, Rufus Wainwright, Mary Black, Barbara Dickson, Joe Boyd, Simon Nicol, Dave Pegg, Linda Thompson, Joan As Policewoman, Richard Digance, Iain Matthews, Christine Collister, Gordon Giltrap, Chris Blackwell and Julianne Regan.
The invitation reflects Sorrel’s growing standing within Britain’s contemporary folk and roots scene and comes as she prepares to release Ran Jonny Ran, a deeply personal and evocative song exploring grief, longing and misplaced loyalty through her distinctive blend of folk, Americana and classic singer-songwriter influences.
The single introduces Creeping Thyme, an album filled with rich storytelling, warmth and beautifully crafted songs, building on the critical success of Sorrel’s debut, Lost En Route.
Sorrel will also release her interpretation of Sandy Denny’s timeless classic “Who Knows Where The Time Goes?”, paying tribute to one of Britain’s greatest songwriters while introducing the song to a new generation of listeners.
Following acclaimed appearances at Cambridge Folk Festival and the Isle of Wight Festival, Sorrel will embark on a UK tour in support of Creeping Thyme this autumn.

Creeping Thyme follows on 23 October 2026.
