Sourdough Sophia announces new bakery opening in Covent Garden

On Wednesday 29th July, Sourdough Sophia – the award-winning London based micro bakery – will open its seventh site in Neal’s Yard, Covent Garden. To celebrate, Sourdough Sophia will be giving away FREE goody bags to the first 200 customers on opening day.

Founded by husband-and-wife duo Sophia and Jesse in their North London dining room during lockdown, Sourdough Sophia has quickly expanded and built a loyal following for its high-quality sourdough bread and artisanal pastries, with other sites in Highgate, Hampstead, Crouch End, Essex Road, Primrose Hill and Bermondsey.

Now, Sourdough Sophia brings the delicious baked goods that they are known for to one of London’s most vibrant and central destinations, Covent Garden – 16 Neal’s Yard, WC2H 9DP. To celebrate the opening of the new location, Sourdough Sophia is offering FREE goody bags worth over £30 to the first 200 customers through the door on opening day. The surprises don’t stop at the treats inside the bag – those who claim a goody bag will be in with a chance to win one of five golden tickets, allowing each of them one free cruffin per week, for a year!

The new location will serve up the same decadent and fresh baked goods that Sourdough Sophia is known for, from its wide range of bread varieties to the classic and innovative pastries – including the Passion Fruit Bow and the Strawberry Cruffins. Covent Garden will also sell the brand’s range of savoury items, such as the Smoked Salmon Bun and Courgette Danish – perfect for those looking for a delicious bakery item for lunch.

Exclusive to the Covent Garden location will be the Ice Cream Cruffin Cup – soft, buttery, pillowy interior with a flaky and sugared exterior acting as the perfect cup for a scoop of creamy and thick, soft serve ice cream.

Alongside the bakes, the Covent Garden site will continue to serve a speciality coffee and drinks menu, from hot teas to chilled options, including the Iced Ube Latte with Cold Foam – perfect for summer days strolling in the city.

Following the expansion of the Crouch End site, the opening of the Covent Garden store proves Sourdough Sophia’s commitment to growing the brand’s presence and community across London, continuing to be one of the capital’s stand-out bakeries.

Walk don’t run to Sourdough Sophia in Covent Garden on July 29th to claim free goodies.
