It’s coming home…to Wandsworth! As the FIFA World Cup 2026 kicks off, beer brand Local and The Alma are bringing the spirit of England’s most dramatic football moments to south-west London with a Celebratory Launch Party on Thursday 11th June, dedicated to Gareth Southgate, waistcoats and all.

From 6pm-11pm, the much-loved pub will host a tongue-in-cheek Gareth Southgate lookalike competition, celebrating the beautiful game exactly where it belongs: at your local, Local pint in hand. Contestants will battle it out across fiercely competitive rounds, including; ‘Most Inspiring Team Talk’ and ‘Most Cliché Post-Match Interview’, all in the hope of winning ‘The Golden Waistcoat’ and a £100 bar tab.

Open to the public, this can’t-be-missed event guarantees emotional sideline pacing, aggressive pointing at imaginary defenders and at least one person declaring “the lads gave everything” with Oscar-worthy conviction.

Adding to the festivities, a Robbie Williams tribute act will be performing live throughout the bar, whilst fans cheer on with bar snacks, burgers and beers.

Beyond opening night, The Alma will be showing matches across the tournament on pub screens, best enjoyed with a pint and Scotch egg at the bar.
