Sportswear brand launches campaign to help tackle young men’s mental health, kicking off in London

Montirex, the fast-growing sportswear brand, has chosen London as one of the locations to kick off a new campaign today to help tackle mental health issues among young men.

In support of CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), Montirex is installing ‘pop-up’ football goalposts in key cities.

On Friday 21st June, goalposts will be temporarily painted onto a wall in Barking London and accompanied with a QR code that takes users to Montirex’s Break the Wall website where users can find advice and information and can become a CALM supporter.

Millions of people enjoy sport as a way to build friendships and to bring positivity into their lives.

The Montirex installation uses football as a tool to break down the walls that exist around mental health in young men, encouraging mates to check in on each other when they come together to play, watch and enjoy the sport.

The London installation is at Harts Lane Estate, Barking, IG11 8JX.

As well as London, Montirex will be rolling out the campaign in Birmingham, Liverpool and Dublin in the coming days. To support the launch, Montirex has launched a campaign video.

Partnering with local influencers from Baiteze Squad who are backing the Montirex project. They said:

“We are honoured to be part of the Montirex Break the Wall mental health campaign. Our team is passionate about raising awareness and supporting mental health initiatives, and this collaboration allows us to contribute meaningfully. The activation in London is an incredible opportunity to connect with the community and promote the importance of mental well-being. We believe in the power of sports and unity to break down barriers and create positive change.”

Montirex was founded in Liverpool by friends Kieran Riddell-Austin and Danny Yuen and it has enjoyed spectacular success since its first products were launched in 2019.

Montirex, in support of CALM, is using football as a way to get young men to show up and check in with each other. This was an idea that first came up in discussions between founders Kieran and Danny.

Danny explains:

“Mental health is a huge challenge for young people and CALM does great work in getting support to people who need it.

“If our campaign gets more young men talking to each other and breaking down the walls that exist around mental health, we’ll be proud to have played a small part in tackling those issues.”

The Montirex Break the Wall goalposts will appear in the London location on Monday 21st June and will stay in place for one month.
