St Albans’ business celebrate King’s Enterprise Award at the Palace

JPA Workspaces, the multi-award-winning, accredited workspace experts based in St Albans, Hertfordshire, attended a royal reception hosted by King Charles III on Tuesday 27 June at Buckingham Palace, as recipients of the first King’s Award for Enterprise 2023 in Sustainable Development.

The King’s Award for Enterprise, announced in April, recognises the outstanding achievements by UK firms in the categories of innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility.

JPA Workspaces were one of only 15 UK firms, and the only Hertfordshire business, to be recognised in the Sustainable Development category, and the only St Albans based business to receive a King’s Award for Enterprise.

At the reception, King Charles III met and spoke with winners from across the UK.

Fiona Edwards, Head of Sustainability, JPA Workspaces, who represented the firm at the Palace, said:

“The team at JPA have been blown away by this Award which is incredible. It confirms our belief that every business can contribute positively to the social and environmental challenges of our time.

“Going to Buckingham Palace was a thrill, but meeting King Charles III and speaking to him was quite surreal. Being given the opportunity to meet other incredible businesses was so much fun – what a night!”

Celebrating the best of British business, the reception was also attended by The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Environment Secretary Therese Coffey and Business and Trade Secretary Kemi Badenoch.

This is the 57th year of the Awards and the first year of the King’s Awards for Enterprise, formerly The Queen’s Award for Enterprise. JPA Workspaces will have the use of The King’s Award Emblem for the next five years on their products and to promote their services.

Richard Cooksey, COO, JPA Workspaces said:

“We are thrilled to have received The King’s Award 2023 for Enterprise in Sustainable Development which provides a solid platform for our future growth.”
