Staple Spanish Festival, Bilbao BBK Live announces Kneecap and more as final line-up additions for 2025
Bilbao BBK Live returns on 10–12 July 2025, reaffirming its commitment to diversity and artistic exploration. This year’s edition will feature over 100 artists, bringing together established icons, breakthrough talent, and fresh new voices that transcend genres and expectations. Today, the festival unveils that renowned Irish band, KNEECAP adds to their stellar line-up, along with the final Lasai program, and the free-access Bereziak program in the city centre, including Ángel Molina, Promising/Youngster (live), Raya Diplomática, Sr. Chinarro, Ultraligera, Sanguijuelas del Guadiana and Grande Amore.
In times of conflict and censorship, music remains an essential loudspeaker and Bilbao BBK Live will always be a space for voices that provoke, question, and refuse to stay silent. KNEECAP’s appearance in Kobetamendi on July 11 is an act of cultural resistance, a celebration of freedom of expression and of those, like them, who aren’t afraid to speak out against injustice. The Belfast trio, made up of MOCHARA, MÓGLAÍ BAP, and DJ PRÓVAÍ, are known for their political provocation and proud identity, blending Gaelic rap with punk attitude to challenge the establishment.
Since 2011, Bereziak has extended the spirit of Bilbao BBK Live into the streets of the city with three days of free-access concerts. A collaboration between Fundación Industrias Creativas and the festival, this programme serves as a cultural catalyst, fostering inclusion, encouraging participation, and enriching the community through music and creativity, going beyond the limits of the festival.
As night falls, Bilbao BBK Live transforms into a playground of electronic exploration. Deep in the forest, Basoa offers an immersive 360° clubbing experience where nature and sound converge. Nearby, Gorria reinvents the nightclub each evening through rotating collectives, crafting a dynamic space for rhythm, identity, and free expression.
Meanwhile, Lasai, perched above the city with panoramic views, offers a contrasting space of calm and contemplation. Curated by OLIVIA on Thursday, its lineup features Ángel Molina, Chica Acosta, Lamia Mari, and Verushka. Friday welcomes Populous, Mattias El Mansouri, Moopie, Toni Bass, and Daniel Kelsan. On Saturday, Vladimir Ivkovic curates a global journey through ambient, dub, and experimental textures, joined by Hugo Sánchez, Melina Serser, Promising/Youngster (live), and Azu Tiwaline.
Bilbao BBK Live kicks off on Thursday, 10 July with the long-awaited debut of Britpop legends Pulp, joined by Kaytranada’s genre-blending Timeless Tour, Michael Kiwanuka’s soulful fusion, and BICEP’s immersive CHROMA AV (DJ set). The day also features high-energy performances from Ca7riel y Paco Amoroso, Japanese Breakfast, and standout Spanish acts like Raya Diplomática, Grande Amore, and Ángel Molina. Friday 11 July brings an eclectic mix led by Raye, alongside Bad Gyal’s fearless reggaeton-pop, Amaia’s acclaimed Spanish pop, and raw punk from Amyl & The Sniffers, with dance-ready sets from Polo & Pan and Orbital, plus Kneecap, Jessica Pratt, and Sr. Chinarro. The festival closes on Saturday, 12 July, with Kylie Minogue’s dazzling Tension show, the Spanish solo debut of Måneskin’s Damiano David, and the electrifying Nathy Peluso. Carolina Durante delivers powerful Spanish rock, The Blessed Madonna and L’Impératrice light up the dancefloor, while rising acts Promsing/Youngster Live, Sanguijuelas del Guadiana, and Ultraligera inject fresh energy into a weekend of bold performances and vibrant discovery.
