Store re-location for City based opticians

LOCATED in the heart of the City of London, this iconic high street opticians has re-located to its prestigious new site at 50 London Wall. Surrounded by multi-national organisations and financial institutions; commuters, businesses and local residents can pop in during their lunch hour for a sight and hearing check-up.

Specsavers London Wall is conveniently situated close to the Elizabeth Line and Moorgate Tube station is only 200 metres from the store. So, it provides easy access for all.

Store partners Mo El-Turki, dispensing optician and Sirjit Sanghera, ophthalmic director, both from London, have invested £450,000 into the new move which sports the very latest, stylised new frame displays, in-store lighting and iconic wall mounts.

Customers can benefit from state-of-the-art pre-room testing diagnostic equipment, including an OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) and visual fields analyser. A dedicated hearcare centre offers a soundproof booth for customers to have their hearing tested, coupled with the latest micro-suction equipment for wax removal.
There are now four consulting rooms, two diagnostic testing areas and three contact lens stations offering enhanced facilities to customers. The store holds three sight clinics a day and one weekly hearing clinic.
Customers can choose to have an OCT 3D scan, which is advanced diagnostic, eye-scanning equipment that helps detect serious eye conditions, including glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, up to four years earlier than traditional methods.
The OCT is hospital-grade diagnostic imaging equipment and uses light to take more than 1,000 images of the back of the eye and beyond, looking at the optic nerve and creating a cross-sectional view. The added benefit of the scan is that each customer’s OCT images can be stored, with any changes being observed over time – a real benefit to the monitoring of someone’s overall eye health.

Mo El-Turki says: ‘We’re thrilled to be open for existing customers, City dwellers and workers can pop in during their lunch break for a sight or hearing test. The new store offers the very latest testing equipment, plus the streamlined design enhances our customer’s in-store experience.’

New members to the team include Ovis, recently promoted to Retail Manager previously at Specsavers Tottenham Court Road, Mindy, an optical assistant who has relocated from Wales, and Sahima a previous locum, who is now a full-time optical assistant.’

Ophthalmic director Sirjit Sanghera comments: ‘Our latest diagnostic testing equipment provides customers with the opportunity to access hospital-grade equipment here in store.

‘We have a great team who are professional and committed to delivering the best service and care to our customers.’

Specsavers London Wall is supporting The Trussell Trust’s Chalk Farm Foodbank, which offers support to people and families in dire need. Working in the Capital, both Mo and Sirj have witnessed first-hand the day-to-day crisis faced by their own local communities and wanted to provide support. The mechanism for deciding on the amount of each donation is based on the number of customer reviews and comments received, so every comment, irrespective of what is said is being matched with an item of food.

Specsavers recommends that adults have an eye test at least every two years, and children should visit every year. The NHS will cover the full cost of an eye test for anyone who qualifies. All children under 16, as well as those under 19 in full-time education, are entitled to an NHS-funded eye test.
