The Taiwan Excellence Gala Event officially launched the Taiwan Excellence Innovation Showcase at Westfield White City, bringing together leading Taiwanese brands, UK partners and VIP guests for an afternoon that celebrated innovation, design, and collaboration between Taiwan and the UK.
Lord Faulkner, the UK Trade Envoy to Taiwan gave remarks at the event, saying “The health and wellness innovations showcased today will benefit not only the economies of the UK and Taiwan, but also our people. This showcase offers a unique opportunity to experience the ingenuity of Taiwan first-hand. I’m confident this will bolster partnerships between our industries.”
Hosted by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the International Trade Administration (Taiwan), the event featured speeches from Simon Wang, President & CEO of TAITRA, Vincent Yao, Representative of the Taipei Representative Office in the UK, Lord Faulkner of Worcester and Peter Bishop, Editor London Business Matters. Each reflected on Taiwan’s role as a global hub of technology and creativity, and the shared ambition to strengthen trade, cultural understanding, and sustainable growth. The event was hosted by Taiwanese stand-up comedian Monica Hsueh, who guided guests through a lively session of product showcases, entertainment and cultural exchange.
The Gala provided an in-depth look at the Taiwan Excellence Innovation Showcase, which featured twenty-five of Taiwan’s most forward-thinking brands across smart living, health, fashion, mobility, and technology. From ASUS’s VivoWatch 6 for precision health tracking, to Vinxper’s adjustable electric wine aerator that delivers four hours of decanting in seconds — the exhibition showcases how Taiwanese innovation is shaping the future of modern living. Together they embody the Taiwan Excellence values of innovation, sustainability and exceptional design.
Adding a touch of entertainment, the British band Transition performed live, symbolising the connection between Eastern and Western creativity through music as they have been inspired by trips to Taiwan and sing in Mandarin. Their performance provided a fitting soundtrack to an event celebrating innovation and friendship.
Guests enjoyed the company of Fu Bear, the official Taiwan Excellence mascot, who brought light-hearted fun to the gala with the “High Five Challenge” and interactive moments — reflecting the welcoming and playful spirit at the heart of Taiwanese culture.
In addition, the showcase hosted an electric Happy Hour from 5:30pm – 6:30pm on Thursday (23 October) and Saturday (25 October), where visitors were quizzed on Taiwanese food and traditions and were able to taste delicacies from Taiwan. The delicacies included pineapple cakes from Taipec, boba (bubble) tea from T4 and traditional Taiwanese Sweet sweet potato, bean curd and sausage from Han Dian.
The Taiwan Excellence Innovation Showcase was open to the public from 22–26 October 2025 in the Atrium Area of Westfield White City, London. Visitors were invited to explore the latest products from Taiwan’s most dynamic brands, meet representatives, and enjoy complimentary Taiwanese snacks and bubble tea throughout the weekend. The exhibition offered Londoners the chance to discover the creativity, quality and innovation behind Taiwan Excellence.
