Taro launches this July in North London’s Holloway

Taro, the much-loved Japanese restaurant group, is set to open its 11th restaurant on Friday 10th July 2026 at 5pm in the vibrant Holloway district in North London.

Located on the iconic Holloway Road just moments away from the world-famous Emirates Stadium and the bustling Nags Head Market area, Taro is bringing its fresh, flavourful and authentic Japanese food to this exciting and diverse London neighbourhood.

Inspired by the Japanese concept of ‘Taishu Shokudo’ (an everyday dining room) and comprising 62 covers, Taro will be serving up its popular bento boxes, handmade sushi and sashimi, comforting ramen and udon, amongst other tasty and traditional sides, rice dishes, noodles and more.

Much-loved best sellers from the Taro group will of course be on offer, including the selection of different gyoza, double-fried karaage, shoyu ramen and the chicken teriyaki bento box.

As a Holloway treat and in homage to the much-loved Arsenal FC down the road, the new site will be selling an Arsenal Special Roll comprising prawn tempura, cream cheese and avocado, topped with tuna and a house special dressing in a striking red to match the team’s iconic colours.

Known as a family destination, little ones also have a great kids menu to choose from with all options priced at just £8.90, including the likes of a sushi roll set, chicken katsu set and deep fried chicken with salad and rice, all served with a choice of juices.

Drinks are no afterthought at Taro, where the reasonably priced cocktail menu is made up of exciting flavours such as the Yuzu & Elderflower Spritz, the Taro Cocktail (Sochu, Plum Wine, Mango) and the Lychee Martini Cocktail. Japanese beer is also on offer, as well as sake, wine and soft drinks.

For dessert, indulge in a matcha cheesecake, Japanese green tea ice cream, a mochi ice cream or the traditional Japanese pancake, dorayaki.

Mr Taro, founder of the eponymous Taro restaurant group, comments: ‘It’s been an exciting and busy year so far with the launch of Crystal Palace and now in Holloway, and we can’t wait for the Holloway locals to come and join us. The area has so much to offer, with some brilliant and creative restaurants around us, and so we’re excited to offer the Holloway community our fresh and authentic Japanese cuisine to the mix. Opening in areas that have a strong, local community feel has worked really well for us, with our recent openings including Brentwood, Walthamstow and Crystal Palace, and we feel confident that Taro will thrive in Holloway as well.’

Perfect for some pre-match food, as well as for local residents, students and families alike, Taro’s new Holloway location further solidifies the brand as the go-to place for authentic and delicious Japanese food in London and the surrounding areas.
