Team of forty Blick Rothenberg colleagues will take part in three-day 50-mile North Downs Way walk to support The Connection at St Martins

A team of forty colleagues from leading audit, tax and business advisory firm, Blick Rothenberg, will take part in a three-day (11th – 13th September), 50-mile walk across the North Downs in south-east England, to support The Connection at St Martins.

Andrew Sanford, a Partner at the firm, said: “Blick Rothenberg’s annual charity walk is now in its third year and has continued to grow, from a small group of six taking part in the inaugural Jersey coastline walk in 2024 to forty walkers this year. Our route will be Oxted town to Betchworth village on day one; a circular walk from Gomshall village to the villages of Westcott, Leith Hill, Abinger then back to Gomshall on day two, and a circular 12 mile walk around Iconic Box Hill on day three.”

He added: “Each year, Blick Rothenberg colleagues nominate and vote for a Charity of the Year to support through fundraising and volunteering initiatives, helping direct our efforts towards causes that matter the most to our people and local communities. This year, we have chosen The Connection at St Martins, who was also our 2024 and 2025 Charity of the Year.”

Andrew said: “The Connection at St Martins has been providing support to homeless people in London for over one hundred years. Their services include street outreach, an emergency Night Centre for rough sleepers, a Day Centre with a GP service, hot food, showers and laundry, specialist housing, substance misuse and mental health support and an onsite training and employment service.”

Heather Powell, a Partner at the firm, said: “This is the third year I have participated in our 50-mile charity walk – it’s exhausting, inspiring, and great way to spend time with amazing colleagues. The contribution we are able to make to The Connection makes it all worthwhile.”

She added: “By taking on the North Downs challenge, we hope to raise both funds and awareness for the vital work carried out by The Connection and demonstrate our commitment to giving back to the communities in which we live and work.”
