TG Lynes scores highly for job satisfaction

Colleague engagement and job satisfaction are continuing to soar at a leading heating, plumbing and air movement materials supplier, a new study has revealed.

Enfield-based TG Lynes collaborated with Best Companies to survey all of its colleagues to gauge opinions and levels of workplace happiness, with a well-above average 87% response rate.

The company carries out the confidential survey annually and the results help to shape policy and strategy moving forward.

The latest results have seen TG Lynes achieve its best-ever results with a Best Companies Index (BCI) score of 702.3 to progress from a 1 Star business to 2 Stars, which is only awarded to organisations which demonstrate “outstanding commitment to workplace engagement”.

It shows continued progress for TG Lynes, which was rated as a ‘One to Watch’ business with a score of 653.8 in 2021.

The highest grade possible is 3 Stars.

Andrew Ingram, Managing Director at TG Lynes, said: “We are delighted with the results of our Best Companies survey, which clearly demonstrate our commitment to colleague engagement and our high levels of satisfaction across all areas of the business.

“We want our employees to feel motivated and engaged, and we’re keen to offer opportunities for genuine progression, both within their role and as individuals.

“A 2 Star rating is excellent, but we certainly won’t be resting on our laurels. As a management team we will examine all feedback carefully and look at ways we can continue to improve, with the ultimate goal of becoming a 3 Star business in the future.

“I’d like to extend my gratitude to all of the amazing people who make TG Lynes what it is.”

Survey respondents praised TG Lynes’ leadership, wellbeing protocols and community initiatives.

TG Lynes offers colleagues a variety of benefits, including regular access to a psychodynamic counsellor.

The business also offers colleagues volunteering opportunities and supports the local community through its Helping Hands scheme, with £15,000 worth of product available annually to good causes in its vicinity.

There was also a 5% leap in the number of people who said they received a “fair deal”, which can be attributed to the ongoing support TG Lynes has offered its colleagues during the cost of living crisis.

A spokesperson for Best Companies said: “A 2 Star accreditation is our second highest standard of workplace engagement and represents organisations striving for the top.

“Achieving a 2 Star accreditation takes a BCI score of at least 696.5, made possible only through an outstanding commitment to workplace engagement.”

TG Lynes stocks industry leading brands and supplies thousands of products, including valves, steel and copper tubes and fittings, press systems, composite and plastic plumbing, drainage solutions and support systems and tooling. An extensive plant hire service is also available.
