Thames Clippers hosts Café Conversations commonly known as loneliness cafe
Time to chat, meet new people and boost your happiness this World Mental Health Day! Thames Clippers invites Londoners to Café Conversations on the Thames; sail along the river and enjoy lively and interesting conversations about a variety of topics and ideas with friendly people.
”Sometimes being in a big city, you’re even more isolated. You’re surrounded by people, but you don’t know who to talk to. Café Conversations is a platform to bridge this, making Londoners happier.” said Louise Kaye, the Founder of Café Conversations.
The latest phase of research from the University of Greenwich looking into the links between commuting and health reveals that commuters who travel by River Bus are still the happiest*. In the research findings, Thames Clippers passengers also expressed the highest level of satisfaction with their transport surroundings.
Boosting the mental health and happiness of Londoners, Thames Clippers will host three Louise Kaye’s Café Conversations for free to provide the community with a different space to make a real connection with someone they don’t know.
Café Conversations attendees will participate in an easy-going facilitated conversation, whilst taking in the beautiful views of London. For those who wish, there is also an on-board bar for refreshments: after all, the best conversations are over a cup of tea.
Café Conversations on the Thames will launch on World Mental Health Day, 10 October, following which two more sailings will be hosted on 17 October and 31 October. The sailings are free of charge, but must be booked online with limited space available.
