The Dog-Friendly Cinemas Launching in London This Spring

This Spring/Summer, several venues across London will be proud to welcome well-behaved dogs (and their owners!) to catch a film, create memories, whilst spending quality time with your four-legged friends. These venues really have it all!

London-based property developers at Essential Living have scoped 5 of the best venues to bring people and pups together to watch a film this summer.

If you don’t want to drive, you can hire this chauffeur company that will take you to the cinema with style.

Picturehouse, venues across London and select UK areas

Picturehouse are as big a fan of dogs as they are of cinema. Their Dog-Friendly Screenings have been running with huge success for over a year sending tails wagging nationwide.

Every month or so, well-behaved dogs and their friendly owners are welcome at Picture House, Bath, and the event usually takes place on Sunday morning. It’s a great way for dog owners to enjoy cinema without having to leave their best friend at home and to meet fellow dog-owning film fans.

Dog-Friendly screenings can be found here in London and other select locations around the UK.

Wooftop Film Club, Peckham

The seasonal Rooftop Film Club at Bussey Building in Peckham is a silent cinema allowing dogs to any and all screenings.

Hot Food, drinks and cinema snacks are available to order from your mobile, and will be delivered straight to your seat! Hot food is provided by Share a Slice Pizza, and a full range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks from Bussey Rooftop Bar as well as classic cinema snacks.

Drive in Film Club, Alexandra Palace

Drive in Film Club, the award-winning brainchild of Rooftop Film Club, has returned to Ally Pally to bring you the ultimate big screen movie night out, with a first look at top rated new releases, feel good films, a celebration of the UK’s capital. And, of course, pet-friendly screenings complete with doggy popcorn.

From 17 May you can fill your car with people and pups to enjoy the ultimate doggy drive in experience.

Openair Float-in Cinema, Merchant Square

Spring and Summer is the best time to embrace the open-air cinema life, and there’s one place in London that offers a cinematic experience like no other.

In 2021, Openaire, Merchant Square and dog-friendly GoBoat joined forces and offered a new experience: a dog-friendly floating open-air cinema on the Regent’s Canal.

You can hire self-drive electric boats to sail around Paddington, Little Venice and Regents Canal with up to 8 passengers (two-legged or four-legged) on board.

Keep up to date here as Openair has some big plans for Summer 2022.

Sunset Screening Sessions, Beckenham Place Park

Look forward to Summer of 2022 as Sunset Screening Sessions will be back, and as well holding special dog-friendly screenings, diversity is the central pillar of Sunset Screening Sessions’ film programme. It includes comedy, horror, romance, LGBT, Black, arthouse cinema and much more, dating from 1928 all the way to the present.

This summer, Friday nights are cinema nights in Beckenham Place Park where the screenings will be located.
