THE GLOBAL LEADER OF VR ENTERTAINMENT LAUNCHES ITS MOST IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE YET IN COVENT GARDEN

Sandbox VR, the world’s #1 most advanced and much-celebrated virtual reality gaming destination has announced the UK release of its latest game, Seekers of the Shard: Dragonfire.

Seekers of the Shard will be available to play at its UK flagship site in Covent Garden from 30th June. Players will embark on an epic journey, inspired by fantasy films in a mythical world filled with adventure.

Backed by celebrities including Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake and Will Smith, Sandbox VR provides an immersive full-body virtual reality experience, by harnessing a gear change in technological advances, powered by a new generation of Hollywood motion capture cameras and technology, creating an experience of touch, vibration, and motion for the user.

Up to six players are collectively immersed as if they were living inside a movie or game, experiencing a full spectrum of adrenaline-fuelled emotions as they enter worlds of swashbuckling pirates, zombie apocalypses, or soar above the clouds in a space elevator.

In Seekers of the Shard, for the first time ever, players can choose their own path, visiting different locations whilst encountering unique enemies, characters and challenges as they attempt to find a mysterious ‘shard’ to save the realm from destruction. It’s Sandbox VR’s first experience with multiple storylines, so users can play again and again, to explore new adventures.

Guests journey through ruined fortresses, an underground river, a haunted tomb, and the dragon’s tower as they prove their worthiness as ‘Seekers of the Shard’. Thrill seekers will battle against skeletons, goblins, and a mighty dragon, as they embody a variety of unique characters – each with their own style, weapons, and abilities – engaging in hand-to-hand combat, or fighting from a distance with crossbows and magic.

The new game launches with a host of improved features, including free-roam wireless technology, removing the need for a backpack for improved agility, whilst a new headset promises to improve the field of vision and graphics, to create the ultimate immersive experience.

In addition, a new innovative toggle feature gives players the option to remove graphic violence from the game if they wish, making it friendly for all types of players.

These customisable elements are another way that Sandbox is paving the way to create unique experiences for every group, unlike other VR destinations. Its innovation continues to push the boundaries of what Virtual Reality can be, cementing Sandboxes position as a global industry leader.
