The Gym Group launch its ‘Back To Work-Out’ campaign which will give away free one day gym passes every Monday

More employees in London are set to swap WFH for a workout today, after a new survey found more than two-thirds (71%*) plan to kickstart a new fitness routine to coincide with the ‘Great Return’ to the workplace.

New data from The Gym Group has revealed almost two-thirds of British employees (60%) returning to the workplace following the lifting of Plan B restrictions are now more likely to get back to the gym and form regular exercise habits.

64%** of people in London also said that if their employer allows them to work flexibly each week, they will be more likely to stay active.

The Gym Group, which operates more than 59 gyms, is setting out to help the nation get active by launching a new campaign today called ‘Back To Work-Out’, which will give away free one day passes every Monday throughout February.

TV medic, Dr Chris George, who is backing the campaign to support people to take up regular exercise whilst they work more flexibly, said: “Kickstarting your week with a workout is as good for your mind as it is for your body, and this survey shows that more people are motivated to get back to working out and start a new exercise routine as life begins to return to normal.

The survey found more than half (60%***) of those who exercise agree that kickstarting the working week with exercise on a Monday has a positive impact on the rest of their week.

The survey also found that the biggest motivator for those in Greater London to get active in 2022 is to improve their mental health, with more than half (52%) stating personal wellbeing as their motivational goal. This is followed by increased energy (44%) and strength levels (also 44%).
