The Jazz Cafe reveal autumn and winter club season

Iconic music institution The Jazz Cafe reveals its autumn and winter late-night club programme, featuring a melting pot of dance music sounds from communities around the world.

Following a refurbishment of the DJ booth, lights and sound system at the end of last year, the Camden venue has cemented itself as one of London’s most intimate clubbing meccas, proving it’s no longer just a home for live music.

Bolstering its reputation as London’s leading venue for unique talent, this season, The Jazz Cafe is set to showcase an eclectic and expansive lineup of electronic artists, proudly presenting a roster of talent that can’t be matched elsewhere in the city.

Building on its already world-renowned musical selections, the new autumn and winter club series features handpicked, influential artists from around the world, including scene-leaders and emerging talent alike, providing London clubbers with a unique dancefloor experience.

After an electrifying sold-out show in March, multicultural movement Disco Tehran returns to The Jazz Cafe for another mesmeric dance party on Friday 8th September. Connecting the dots between present-day New York to the bygone era of discotheques in 1970s Tehran, the collective explore groovy household throwbacks and rare music from Asia, Latin America, and Africa to connect cultures in the dance.

After a blowout debut live performance at The Jazz Cafe, berlioz brings his sounds to the DJ booth on Friday 15th September for a night of house cuts and original works, with Kareem Ali on warm-up duties. The following week, on Friday 22nd September, Joe Claussell, one of the founding fathers of New York house music and the co-founder to renowned club night ‘Body & Soul’ graces DJ booth, joined by influential afrobeat artist Dele Sosimi.

Taking place every Friday throughout October, all-stars from the contemporary afrobeats, amapiano and afro-bashment scenes take over The Jazz Cafe, headed up by pioneering British-Ghanaian producer Juls. Following the huge success of his ‘Sounds Of My World’ album, Juls’ Black October residency sees him inviting the likes of Short T, Nicky Summers b2b Duo, DJ Edott, AAA and more as he magnifies the intricate and diverse dance music sounds from the African diaspora.

The crew behind rare-groove Youtube channel My Analog Journal are set to make their mark on Friday 10th November, treating the crowd to hidden gems from around the world, everything from Brazilian funk, Thai Luk Thung, USSR jazz, Afro-funk, to Japanese city pop, they will be joined on the night by DJ duo Batukizer. The following week, globetrotting producer and French beat-maker Onra will perform live at the venue on Friday 17 November – this is one for the heads.

On the 24th November, the host of Worldwide FM’s Club Coco, Coco Maria will bring her unconditioned energy and irresistible slices of bossa nova, samba, cumbia, and all sorts of rarities from sunnier, far-off places to The Jazz Cafe, with support on the night from British-Colombian DJ BUSHBBY, and energy-filled producer ESA.

Another strong female headliner leading her corner of the scene follows on Friday 1st December, as Arthi Hard (Arthi) graces the decks with her unfiltered energy in the form of blistering blends across everything from reggaeton to bass.

Ranging in style from personable and fun to more moody and soulful, Soichi Terada has a broad sound palette that is full of humour and character. Terada will play a rare live show in the capital on the 23rd of December, cooking up his own melodically rich slant on house.

Robin Perkins a.k.a. El Búho will kick things off at The Jazz Cafe in the new year, bringing his tropical vibes and rhythms to the venue on the 5th of January. Finally, on the 1st of March, legendary sound system operator and dub producer Aba Shanti will be delving deep into his dub boxes from the bygone era to the modern day.
