The King’s Foundation honours Blenheim Estate Homes at annual Building A Legacy Awards
UK housebuilder Blenheim Estate Homes, along with its long-standing build partner Pye Homes, and masterplanner and architect ADAM Architecture, is celebrating after winning the ‘Landowner Award’ category for its Park View development, at the prestigious King’s Foundation Building A Legacy Awards.
The King’s Foundation’s Building A Legacy Awards, now in their third year, honoured landowners who prioritise careful placemaking and long-lasting legacy in development of their land at a ceremony at Hatfield House in Hertfordshire.
The awards are designed to recognise those leading the field, prioritising people, and the planet, across three main categories, including The Community Award, Landowner Award and Key Role Award.
Recognised for its legacy development designed in collaboration with masterplanner and architect, ADAM Architecture, Park View in Woodstock has been created with Blenheim’s Legacy Principles in mind, centred around supporting and integrating with the local community. This includes sourcing and using local materials where possible, ensuring energy efficiency by design, and traditional methods of construction and craft, all whilst fostering sustainability, community and well-being.
Park View was recognised specifically for its efforts to partner with local authorities, seamlessly integrating with Woodstock, offering commercial units, job opportunities, walkable layouts, and homeworking spaces, as well as respecting Woodstock’s history and the proximity of Blenheim Palace.
Formed in 2017, The Building A Legacy network brings together landowners, developers, and consultants to meet, debate, and share knowledge about sustainable urban development with the aim of building the next generation of new places which future generations will cherish.
Roger File of Blenheim Estate Homes and Pye Homes, said: “This achievement is thanks to the hard work and commitment of the Pye Homes team, our hugely successful collaboration with ADAM Architecture, and our dedication to our Landowner Legacy Principles. Park View has been carefully planned and built to create a development of which our community can be proud, so to take home the Landowner Award this year is a huge testament to this.”
