THE LASTMINUTE.COM LONDON EYE LIGHTS UP IN UKRAINIAN AND UK FLAG COLOURS TO CELEBRATE THE ARRIVAL OF THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST

To celebrate the return of the Eurovision Song Contest Final to the UK for the first time in 25 years, and to honour 2022 winners and 2023 hosts Ukraine, the lastminute.com London Eye will illuminate the UK’s most iconic landmark in its first dual flag light up.

Lit up in a unique design splitting the well-known wheel’s lights between the red, white, and blue of the Union Flag and the yellow and blue of the Ukrainian Flag, the South Bank attraction will shine bright in the London skyline creating a visual representation of celebration and unity ahead of the grand finale in Liverpool on Saturday 13th of May.

But that’s not all! To ensure everyone stays in a party mood all night, the London Eye will become a live scoreboard with its many lights flashing in Ukrainian or UK colours every time either country is awarded the coveted ‘douze points’.

Imran Tauqir, General Manager at the lastminute.com London Eye, said: “We’re excited to be celebrating the return of the Eurovision Song Contest Final to the UK by lighting up the London skyline in the colours of the UK and Ukrainian flags. It is the first time that the London Eye has ever lit specially for Eurovision.

It was important for us to honour Ukraine as the official host of the event, so we’ve designed the first-ever dual flag light-up for the attraction to mark this unique and special show. We wish both Ukrainian and UK entries the best of luck and we hope they both win top points on Saturday to dazzle the London skyline with our live scoreboard.”

The lastminute.com London Eye’s Eurovision light-up will start on Friday 13th from 8:30pm and will finish on Sunday 15th 5am. The attraction will become a live scoreboard from around 11 pm as the scores are announced live from the venue in Liverpool on Saturday 14th.
