The Lion King Roars Into Sutton

Empire Cinemas, the UK’s largest independently owned cinema chain is partnering up with Sutton’s Business Improvement District (BID), to bring all-things Lion King to life between 20th and 21st July.

After just 1 year of operating in Sutton, the cinema is organising a number of Lion King themed activations to delight the whole family within the cinema and across the town centre for just two days. Residents can expect an exciting weekend with surprise entertainment with help from Empire’s friends at Devonshire Primary, Grayes Theatre Arts, Presto Performing Arts and Twisted Bliss.

The upcoming blockbuster film is set to be released on 19th July and is a live-action remake of Disney’s beloved animated film The Lion King which was first released in 1994. To welcome the highly anticipated film with the appropriate fanfare, the activities will be on all day and will provide entertainment for the whole family.

Empire Cinemas Sutton boasts a state-of-the-art complex and has recently launched two brand-new screens seating approximately another 200 guests.  To deliver the ultimate viewing experience the cinema is equipped with 12 luxury auditoria including two D-BOX Cinema experience rooms.

Justin Ribbons, CEO of Empire Cinemas commented: “We’re thrilled to be working with BID to bring cinema to life in Sutton. It’s a joy to introduce a new generation to such an iconic film and franchise and we hope that our weekend of celebrations makes the experience all the more memorable”
