THE RECEIPTS PODCAST ANNOUNCES FOUNDING HOSTS TOLLY T & AUDREY TO STEP DOWN AFTER 10 YEARS

The Receipts Podcast, one of the UK’s most influential and culture-shaping podcasts, today announces that its founding hosts, Tolly T and Audrey (Tolani Shoneye and Audrey Akande), will step down following their upcoming 10-year anniversary tour – marking the end of an era and the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the show. Tickets for The Receipts LIVE tour are available at www.TheReceiptsPodcast.co.uk and you can stream The Receipts Podcast now.

For the past decade, Tolly T and Audrey have led The Receipts Podcast to the forefront of conversations around relationships, culture, and modern life. Known for their unfiltered honesty, humour, and relatability, they have built a fiercely loyal community and redefined the podcast landscape in the UK.

In a major and unprecedented move, the hosts have revealed in today’s brand-new episode that the podcast will continue beyond their departure – with new hosts personally selected by them. For the first time, The Receipts Podcast is turning to its own audience to find the next generation of voices, inviting listeners to step forward and carry the platform into its next era. This unique handover places the future of the show in the hands of the very community that has helped shape it. Further details on the audition process for new hosts will be announced soon.

The announcement comes ahead of the highly anticipated UK tour, The Receipts LIVE, kicking off this May. The tour will travel to Birmingham, Leeds, London, Bristol and Dublin, offering fans a final opportunity to experience Tolly T and Audrey live on stage as hosts. Following the tour, both will transition into new roles as Executive Producers, continuing to shape the podcast behind the scenes.

On the announcement, Tolly T said “I am so proud of the podcast and so excited for this next stage, the decision to step back as hosts is an act of authorship, it is a recognition that the platform has become bigger than myself and Audrey. We have carried the show through host changes, cultural shifts, industry changes, and the explosive rise of podcasting itself. And now we are choosing to protect what we built by evolving it. We are intentionally creating a future that introduces new voices and allows them to inherit the audience, the responsibility, and the legacy of The Receipts Podcast.”

Audrey Akande said “I’m so excited to send the elevator back down and give a fresh voice an opportunity of a lifetime but more importantly to see the legacy of Receipts Podcast live on”

Since its launch in 2016, The Receipts Podcast has achieved remarkable success. It made history with its BBC spin-off, becoming the first podcast hosted by Black and Brown women to reach number one on the Apple Podcasts chart, and secured an exclusive partnership with Spotify in 2019. Over the years, it has welcomed an impressive roster of guests, including Regina King, Ncuti Gatwa, Wretch 32, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Maya Jama.

At its core, The Receipts Podcast is a vibrant, honest and unapologetic space – bringing “group chat” conversations to life. From relationships and situationships to everyday dilemmas, the show delivers candid discussions with no filter. Alongside its weekly episodes, the much-loved Your Receipts segment sees Tolly and Audrey offer advice to listeners navigating challenges across love, friendships, family and careers.

While celebrated for its humour and openness, the podcast has also created space for meaningful and necessary conversations, tackling topics such as race, politics and wider social issues – cementing its place as both an entertaining and impactful cultural platform.
