The Slow Cooked Ox Cheek and Moroccan Lamb Koftas may look like they’ve come straight out the kitchen of a high-end Michelin restaurant, but appearances can be deceptive. As the name of the The Ready Meal restaurant suggests, the latest pop-up to hit London comes with a twist: every dish served is actually an Asda Extra Special ready meal.

The unique pop up will open its doors on the 21st October and boast an exquisite eight-course tasting menu, created exclusively using Asda’s Extra Special ready meals and accompaniments to celebrate 20 years of the retailer’s premium own brand range. Each dish is plated and presented with fine dining flair and finesse by Asda’s Innovation Chef Andrew Johnston and his team.

Situated at Amber in trendy East London, lucky diners will be able to tuck into beautifully presented Slow Cooked Ox Cheek served with Ruddles Ale, Moroccan Lamb Koftas with Spiced Tomato, Apricot and Chickpea, Korean BBQ Beef with Shichimi and Sticky Rice and Salmon with Crispy Capers. Extra flourishes and touches are provided by other accompaniments and ingredients found in the Extra Special range, all of which will be paired with a refreshing selection of Extra Special wines.

The Ready Meal Restaurant is open for one day only on Thursday 21st October at Amber, 21 Piazza Walk, London E1 8QH.

100 exclusive diners and friends will have the chance to dine at the world’s first Ready Meal Restaurant. Diners hoping to secure their space for a lunch or dinner sitting on Thursday 21st October can visit Asda.com/ready-meal-restaurant and winners will be allocated at random. Ballot entries for the restaurant will close on 17th October and lucky winners will be contacted.
