Ahead of World Martini Day (20th June), McCain is shaking up summer socials with its take on the cult-favourite pairing of martinis and fries, bringing them together for the first time in one single serve: The Chip Martini.
Developed in partnership with Nightjar, the London hotspot renowned for defining the modern speakeasy, the Chip Martini will be available from 17th to 21st June.
At the centre of this iconic serve is British Maris Piper potato vodka, putting the humble spud usually used for McCain Crispy French Fries firmly in the spotlight. The Chip Martini mixes potato vodka with dry vermouth, finished with a French fry garnish and served alongside a portion of McCain Crispy French Fries.
Laura Koscik, Marketing Director at McCain, said: “At McCain, we’re all about helping people connect over a shared bowl of chips. The Chip Martini takes a much-loved social pairing – martinis and fries – and reimagines it in a way that feels fresh and playful. Partnering with Nightjar has allowed us to bring this idea to life with real craft, creating a one-of-a-kind serve designed to bring friends, dates or colleagues together to enjoy our Chip Martini with a delicious side of our Crispy French Fries.”
Emanuele Pedrazzini, Bar Director at Nightjar said, “We’re always intrigued by taking classic serves somewhere unexpected, while keeping craft at the centre. The Chip Martini does exactly that – using potatoes to create a vodka with real character and elegance, then pairing it with the familiar social ritual of fries and a martini. It’s innovative, yet still refined, which is what makes it such a fun serve for our guests.”
Set against a backdrop of art deco interiors and theatrical bartending, the Chip Martini will be stirred (not shaken!) and served at Nightjar (129 City Rd, London EC1V) for £12 including a free portion of McCain Crispy French Fries from 17th-21st June.
