Theatre Royal Drury Lane Free Giveaway this Bank Holiday Weekend

To celebrate the launch of their brand-new Showstopping Afternoon Tea, Theatre Royal Drury Lane announce a free giveaway in London’s Covent Garden of two signature items from the new theatrical and character-themed menu this Bank Holiday Saturday 3rd May. As part of this activity, they will be offering an exclusive offer to all guests booking for Afternoon Tea for a limited time only.

200 of ‘The Hero’ – Free Range Blythburgh Pork Sausage Rolls – and 200 of ‘The Chorus’ – Raspberry & Biscuit Macarons with Raspberry Jam – will be given away this Saturday, 3rd May between 11am-3pm* outside the theatre on Catherine Street, Covent Garden.

This is a brilliant opportunity for Bank Holiday shoppers, sight-seers or London locals to get a first taste of the brand-new menu before making a booking, something that has never been offered before by the theatre. The samples will be freshly baked by our in-house kitchen team, made with the finest ingredients and given out by our enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff, who can regale guests with tales of the theatre while they snack.

A limited number of tables are also being held back for walk-ins on the day, so guests can drop in and enjoy the experience without a booking – subject to availability. For those who aren’t able to make the tea that day, The Lane is also offering an exclusive celebratory 20% discount to guests who make a booking on Saturday, so they can delight in the experience at their convenience.

The Showstopping Afternoon Tea perfectly combines the magic of theatre with exquisite dining, and The Lane remains the only theatre in the West End to serve Afternoon Tea. This unique and one-of-a-kind experience is served in the stunning surroundings of the iconic Grand Saloon – one of the finest Regency rooms in London.

Staying true to theatrical traditions, this Showstopping Afternoon Tea is staged in two acts, and, as with any great production, there’s an encore – with plentiful tea, champagne and much more.

Act One invites guests to ‘tread the boards,’ with the savoury options presented on a limited-edition serving board, crafted from the original 101-year-old stage floor removed during the 2019 building restoration.
The Showstopping sweets in Act Two will be concealed beneath a resplendent red velvet curtain that is dramatically lifted at the table for the big reveal, evoking the grandeur and essence of theatre’s most iconic moments.

The Lane’s beautiful Terrace overlooks the hustle and bustle of Covent Garden and is now open for guests to soak up the drama of Afternoon Tea or have a drink and nibbles during the day.***
