Theatre Royal Drury Lane launches pre-theatre dining
Theatre Royal Drury Lane, one of London’s most iconic cultural venues, announces the launch of its brand-new pre-theatre dining menu.
Marking the occasion of Shakespeare plays returning to Theatre Royal Drury Lane since 1957, this is the only theatre in the West End to offer a three-course menu before heading to a West End show.
Served in the beautiful surroundings of the Grand Saloon, a marble-lined Regency room with twinkling chandeliers and a fine art collection, this is the first time this space has opened for evening dining. The carefully curated three course menu features thoughtfully crafted seasonal British dishes with contemporary finesse and offers a wide selection of choices per course.
Starters include smoked salmon with horseradish cream, capers and rye bread or a pork terrine with brandy cherries, cornichons and sourdough bread. Main dishes offer hearty meals perfect for a winter evening including; Ox cheek bourguignon served with pickled onions, carrots, watercress and mashed potato, or the classic British fish pie with salmon, smoked haddock, pollock and a brioche crumb. Vegan and vegetarian options include a Jerusalem artichoke risotto and parsnip soup.
The desert selection is full of indulgent treats including sticky toffee pudding and the artful Black Forest coupe—adding a touch of decadence.
Whether watching a West End show or looking for a pre-theatre dinner venue in the heart of Covent Garden, The Lane has created the perfect solution. Theatre Royal Drury Lane is the only place you can indulge in a pre-theatre dining experience in a West End theatre, so book ahead to guarantee a slot this Christmas.
The pre-theatre 3 course menu at The Lane is priced at £49.50 per person, limited availability, 2 sittings per show.
