Things to do in London: ICE BAR & Wahlburgers

Now in its 15th year has been recently refurbished to provide three venues under one roof; the Fire Bar, Yuu Kitchen and the ICE BAR itself famous for its minus 5 degree room and impressive and interactive ice installations. There’s also a brilliant terrace that runs outside perfect for people watching along Heddon Street.

The theme for this year’s ICE BAR installation is Valhalla Calling and was created by sculpting, chipping and carving a staggering 30 tonnes of ice to create the mystical norse theme. Visitors are invited to drink with the gods whilst looking the part in the classic fur-lined cape and gloves like a true Viking to keep out the cold of the constant -5 degrees.

Yuu Kitchen is the third site for Head Chef Jon de Villa, previously of Nobu London, who has created a menu inspired by his Filipino heritage and travels across the Pacific Rim and Asia. Dishes include Grilled Cauliflower with Sweetcorn, Jalepeño Dressing, Shallots, Garlic Chips and Chives, Chicken Inasal (ancho grilled chicken thigh) with Green Papaya Acharra Sweet Pickle, Cobia Bao with Yuzu Koshi, Miso Cobia, Papaya Pickle, and Red Currant Sauce.

Wahlburgers: The celebrity burger restaurant owned by Mark Wahlberg and famous for their stacked burgers, sides and brilliant location next to theatres and attractions of Covent Garden.

Dishes include the famous BBQ Bacon with white cheddar, bacon, fresh jalapeños, house made BBQ sauce and avocado spread. The restaurant caters for vegans, vegetarians as well as the health conscious, with plant based burger patty options, roasted Portobello mushroom sandwiches and fresh salads.

Both venues are suitable for all ages, offer great food and drinks in Central London locations and would make a fun place to visit for those coming to London for shopping, theatre trips or a weekend in the Capital.
